- WEEk 21 Date of teaching: Monday Janruary 22nd 2024 English 2–Period 37 UNIT 10: AT THE ZOO Lesson 2 I/ OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to : - correctly pronounce the words zoo, zebra, zebu and say the sentence pattern: That’s a _______.in a chant. - Communication and cooperation competence: read and complete the sentences, work in pairs/groups. - Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information - Autonomy and self-learning: remembering, recalling and guessing words/ phrases - Problem –solving and creativity: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. - Sound /z/ - Vocabulary: review - Sentence pattern: That’s a _______ - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning English II/ TEACHING AIDS: - Pictures, words cards, worksheets, flashcards, objects, recording, computer, projector. -Tieng Anh 2 students’ books, pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks. II/PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: Check-up:5’ - to help ss remember the words that they have learn in lesson 1. - grouping, miming, ask and answer. -T asks ss to say the letter and the sound they learnt in lesson 1( Z/z , /z/) Say “Open your book page 44 and look at lesson 2” - SS say the letter and 2. Ask ss to make sure if they recognize the two forms of the letter. - Tell ss to trace the letter Z/z T can demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the broken lines of the letter Z/z on the board. -Then let ss write the letter. Then find out the missing letter to complete the correct word. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -Ss look and listen. - Check the results of ss’ tracing and give feedback. Ask ss to work in pairs and swap their answers. Give ss time to work. Go around and offer help, if necessary. -Ss listen. - Ask some ss to show what they have done. - Ss can write the letter Z/z and complete the words: zoo, zebra, zebu -SS do the task. 3. Consolidation :2’ *Aims: to consolidate and wrap up the content of the lesson. -Check in pairs. - T tells ss about the main content of the lesson. - T tells ss about the educational Aimss of the lessons. 4. OBJECTIVES: - Vocabulary: mango, mother, mouse. - Sound: +Say the letter M/m and the words mango, mother, mouse. +Listen and identify the words mango, mother, mouse. +Trace the letter M/m complete the words __ango, _other, _onkey , _ouse. -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Activity 1:Warm up:5’ *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. * Invite a few Ss to point to the picture/poster and pronounce the sound of the letter M/m, and say the words mango, - SS point and say mother, mouse Activity 2. Listen and chant:10’ *Aim: help Ss to read the chant with some words: mango, mother, mouse - Have Ss look at the chant in their books and draw Ss’ attention to the first line and explain its meaning .
